FAQ

Paarl? How do I get there?

Paarl is not too far from Cape Town and in the wine region of South Africa. We are planning to spend some time around Cape Town for the winter season and decided to celebrate our wedding in this beautiful part of the world. Closest airport is Cape Town International Airport (CPT), which is about a 40 minute drive. We are aware that this location requires a lot of traveling and are not mad at all at anyone for whom that is too far. But for those who can make it we guarantee it's worth the trip ;)

Do I need a car to get there?

We do recommend renting a car if you plan to explore before or after the wedding. There are plenty of options at CPT airport (we've used First Car twice) and it’s also the easiest way to get around the Winelands and beyond. Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Bolt are safe, available and reliable in most areas in South Africa, including Paarl and Cape Town.

Can I bring a date?

Yes, of course your +1s (or 2s) are welcome, please just let us know when you RSVP.

Are kids welcome?

Yes, this is a kids-friendly event. We recognise that some of you will be travelling with your kids, and babysitters are available. More information will follow closer to the date.

How and when should I RSVP by?

The RSVP-form is linked in the menu. We would love to get a "first response" by January 31 2026 - and are aware that life happens and things might change along the way. Later adjustments are tolerated, don't stress.

What's happening before March 31st and after April 3rd?

We will most likely already be in Cape Town on the weekend of March 28th. We plan to arrive at Laborie Wine Estate on March 30th and leave on April 3rd. We would love to connect and spend as much quality time with you as possible! We will keep you posted on spontaneous activities in and around CT closer to the date, i.e. beach, bars, hikes. Please reach out if you're interested to join us.

Will there be wine?

Double confirm

Is there a dress code?

Please see the Program page for more information on the planned events incl dress codes.

Do you have a gift registry or wish list?

Your presence is the best gift we could ask for! We know travelling across oceans or continents is already a lot. If you’d still like to gift something, we’d be grateful for any contribution towards our honeymoon.

Is this [an April Fool's] joke?

Maybe.

Is it safe to travel in South Africa?

Millions of visitors travel to South Africa safely every year, enjoying its stunning landscapes and rich culture by applying common-sense precautions. In short, while the country has challenges, being aware and practicing a high degree of caution, similar to what you would in any large, major city around the world, will significantly help ensure a safe trip. We collected some general guidelines on the "Things to Do" page.
